WHAT IS A HEAT PUMP AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
A Heat Pump is not a new idea. Using proven refrigeration technology, in the winter time usable heat is captured by an outdoor heat exchanger and this heat is sent via refrigerant lines to an indoor “A” Coil which is attached to the plenum of your furnace. In the summer the system is reversed and heat in your home is captured by the “A” Coil and sent to the outside heat exchanger to be expelled. The following diagrams show the process:
A heat pump has a serviceable life of 20-25 years, therefore providing you will many years of home heating cost savings.
